The character is based on the Norse mythological god of the same name, the Asgardian god of thunder whose enchanted hammer Mjolnir enables him to fly and manipulate weather, among his other superhuman attributes. <strong>Thor is the son of Odin and Fjorgynn, or Jord, and is married to Sif<\/strong>. He is a big eater and enjoys the honey-based drink mead. As the champion of order in the world, he battles against giants and other monsters. It might be because of his power and strength that he appears in so many stories. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Superhuman strength, speed, endurance &amp; resistance to injury<\/strong>. Member of the otherworldly &amp; virtually immortal Asgardian race. Wields the enchanted Uru-forged hammer Mjolnir, which grants mastery over the elements of thunder &amp; lightning, as well as the ability to fly &amp; open interdimensional gateways. <strong>Thor was tasked with guarding Asgard, the stronghold of the gods and goddesses<\/strong>. He also wielded one of the most powerful weapons in the universe, Mj\u00f6lnir his unique hammer, which was capable of leveling mountains and slaying giants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thor,\u00a0<strong>the powerful god of thunder in Norse mythology<\/strong>, was the mighty defender of gods and goddesses, who were constantly under siege by the forces of chaos. Thor was the most popular god in the Norse pantheon, and his many exploits are recalled in many myths and tales\u2014far more than any other Norse god or goddess. Odin created a cave in Norway where Jord gave birth to Thor. Months after the infant Thor was weaned, Odin brought him to Asgard to be raised. Thor&#8217;s determination is a weakness in that he keeps throwing himself at an adverse situation to the point of threatening his life. Who Plays Love? Gorr&#8217;s daughter is played by\u00a0<strong>India Rose Hemsworth<\/strong>, the daughter of Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, and actress Elsa Pataky. Hemsworth has talked about how his children are in the movie, saying &#8220;&#8230;Taika had his children in there.
